Willmar Hotel Information:
There is a block of rooms in the Holiday Inn and the Best Western hotels.
The Holiday Inn is across the parking lot from the Willmar Conference Center. The Best Western is connected to the conference center. Both offer free breakfast and there are two restaurants in the Best Western. Green Mill is open for lunch and dinner while Ruffs Sport bar and grill is open for dinner.
The rate is $149.00 per night. The normal rate is $199.00 per night.
The phone number is 320-235-6060. Block of rooms is under “Model Train Convention.” The hotel is across the highway from the BNSF long yard in Willmar.

While winter will soon be blowing over the Northern Prairies, it is not too soon to save the date and start planning for the Thousand Lakes Region Convention in Willmar Minnesota. Willmar was an important division point on the Great Northern and still an important hub for the Burlington Northern Sante Fe. This year’s convention will feature a full schedule of clinics and presentations. We will have a full day trip to Montevideo to visit the Heritage Center and the great model railroad built and maintained by the Minnesota River Division. The spacious Celebration Room will have plenty of room for you to display your models and arts and crafts, last but not least, we will have a great banquet and the luck ticket auction. The Registration form will be on the TLR website in early January and the lates information will be posted on Facebook and in the Fusee.
